Harvard at ICLC 14

Laine Stranahan presented "Cognitive Load Impairs but does not Suspend Contrastive Inference" (joint work with Dylan Hardenbergh and Jesse Snedeker) at the 14th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference at the University of Tartu in Tartu, Estonia, on July 10th. 

 

Harvard at XPrag 2017

Teodora Mihoc presented "Testing a PPI Analysis of Superlative Modified Numerals" (joint work with Kathryn Davidson) at the 7th Experimental Pragmatics Conference in Köln, Germany, on June 23rd. 

 

Harvard at FEAST 2017

Kathryn Davidson's joint work with Ronice Quadros, Diane Lillo-Martin, and Karen Emmorey, titled "Depicting Signs in Bimodal Billingual Code-Blending", was presented at the 6th Formal and Experimental Advances in Sign Language Theory, at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik on June 21st.

 

Harvard at Linguistic Perspectives on Causation

Isabelle Charnavel presented her work titled "Linguistic Perspectives in Causation" at the workshop Linguistic Perspectives on Causation at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on June 29th. 

 

Harvard at ESSLLI 29

The following posters featured Harvard presenters at the 29th European Summer School of Language, Logic, and Information, held at Toulouse Capitale University from the 17th-28th of July:

  • Gunnar Lund presented his work titled "Deriving Even Though from Even" (recipient of the Best Poster Award)
  • Yuyin He presented her work titled "Restructuring and Actuality Entailment in Mandarin Obligatory Control"

 

Harvard at SPP2017

Pooja Paul presented her work titled "Number Interpretation in Conditionals: A Revised Scalar Implicature-Based Account" at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Philosophy and Psychology, held at Johns Hopkins University from June 28th-July 1st.
