#### **HONORS**

#### **C.-T. James Huang honored by Taiwan's Academia Sinica** 

In early July, [Professor C.-T. James Huang](/people/c-t-james-huang) joined the 2016 list of Academicians of Taiwan's Academia Sinica. This is the most prestigious academic honor awarded by the preeminent scholarly institution in Taiwan.

The Academia Sinica holds its convocation biennially. This year only three of the five nominees to the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences were elected. #### NEW COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT  


For the first time, the Department of Linguistics is offering American Sign Language (ASL, Linguistics 73a and 73b) courses this year. #### **New Head Tutor of the Department beginning 2016-17**
