##  **Bondarenko at PhLiP 8**

 Tanya Bondarenko gave a talk titled *‘On the monotonicity of attitudes: Clausal embedding and NPI licensing’*, which is joint work with [Patrick Elliot](https://www.patrickdelliott.com/) (Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf), at PhLiP 8 ([Philosophical Linguistics and Linguistical Philosophy](https://lucian.uchicago.edu/blogs/phlip/)) on Saturday Nov 11. ##  **Van Urk Mini-course and Talk**

 Coppe van Urk visited our department and delivered not only a talk but also a mini-course last week. The mini-course titled *'Explaining the preference for nonconcatenative morphology in Dinka'* took place on Wednesday and Thursday, and the talk *'How to be a word in Atara Imere'* happened on Friday Nov 17. A reception was also held at Kate Davidson's place afterwards. Thanks so much, Coppe and Kate!
