The Department of Linguistics Fall Reception is this Thursday, September 13 at 5:00 PM, 3rd floor Boylston Hall.  All students, staff, visitors to the department, and faculty are invited!  

 

Meaning and Modality Lab Meeting

Josh Martin will give a talk titled "Compositionality in Privative Adjectives: Extending Dual Content Semantics" to the Meaning and Modality Lab on Friday, September 14 at 12:00-1:30 pm.  Location: 2 Arrow St, Room 420.

 

Linguistics Circle Workshop 

The first Harvard Linguistics Circle Workshop features Richard Faure (Université Côte d’Azur, CNRS, BCL, France), presenting "Classical Greek proleptic extraction or how to overcome improper movement" on Friday, September 14 3:30-5:00pm in Boylston Hall 105.

Gunnar Lund (Harvard), Rebecca Jarvis (Harvard) presented "The pragmatics of semantic change: Modeling the progressive-to-imperfective shift," joint work with Gregory Scontras (University of California, Irvine) at Sinn und Bedeutung 23 in Barcelona (September 5-7).
