LangCog 

The next LangCog meeting of the semester will be on Tuesday, March 27th from 5:30-7:00pm! It will take place in William James Hall, Room #1550. The speaker is Akshita Srinivasan (Harvard), and the title and abstract of her talk can be found below. Food will be available at the meeting, and you can find the schedule for the remainder of the semester on their website.

Harvard at Tu+9

Our faculty Katie Franich and PhD student Jacob Kodner gave presentations at the 9th Workshop on Turkic and Languages in Contact with Turkic (Tu+9) at Cornell on March 23. 

- Katie gave a talk titled 'An investigation of Uyghur co-speech gestures: implications for metrical structure', which is joint work with Connor Mayer (UCI), Travis Major (USC) and Gülnar Eziz (Harvard). 

- Jacob's talk was titled 'A Phase-Based Approach to Uyghur Morphosyntax'.

Graduate Student Workshop

Our own Graduate Student Workshop is taking place this Friday, March 29 at 90 Mount Auburn Street from 10am to 4pm. All are welcome and graduate students are strongly encouraged to sign up! Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Looking forward to seeing lots of you there!
