Whatmough Lecture

The department presents the Annual Joshua and Verona Taylor Whatmough Lecture in an area of linguistics that varies from year to year. Joshua Whatmough (1897–1964) was the founder of the Department of Linguistics at Harvard.

We are pleased to announce that the Whatmough Lecture XVII will be held April 29, 2024 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, location TBA. The speaker is Maribel Romero of the University of Kostanz.

A reception at the Harvard Faculty Club immediately follows the talk.
