The Phonetics and Phonology Lab (PhonLab), directed by Katie Franich, is dedicated to understanding the patterning of speech sounds in the world's languages. Members of the lab conduct research on speech production (articulation and acoustics) and perception in a range of languages, and the lab has many projects based in Central and West Africa.
