GSAS Indo-European and Historical Linguistics Workshop
Mark Janse (Department of Linguistics, Ghent University and Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University) will be giving a two part talk series.
- The first part, "From Katpatuka to Ionanistan, The Rise, Demise and Reawakening of Cappadocian (Asia Minor Greek)," is hosted by the Harvard Classics Department and will be on Monday, October 21 at 5:30 pm in William James Hall 105. It will be followed by the documentary film Last Words.
- The second part, "Linguistics Convergence in Asia Minor, The Internal Development of Agglutinative Inflections in Cappadocian Greek," is hosted by the GSAS Workshop in Indo-European and Historical Linguistics Workshop and will be on Tuesday, October 22 at 5:30pm in Boylston 237.

Department of Linguistics Open House
Our Fall open house will be on Wednesday, October 23 from 5-7pm on the 3rd floor of Boylston Hall. This is a chance for prospective concentrators to come talk to current concentrators, graduate students, and faculty in linguistics.
Ahn at 27th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference
College Fellow Dorothy Ahn gave a poster presentation titled "Anaphoric bare nouns: Japanese and Korean vs. other languages" at the 27th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference, held on October 18-19 at Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea.
