Fall 2019 session begins

The fall 2019 semester begins on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.  The course registration deadline for all students, including special students, is Monday, September 9 at 11:59p.m.

Liu Awarded Travel Grant for CUNY 32

Yingtong Liu was awarded a Student Travel Award for presenting at the 32nd CUNY Human Sentence Processing Conference, held at UC Boulder on March 29-31.  Congratulations!

 

Harvard at CLS 55

The following members of our department presented at the Chicago Linguistic Society's 55th annual conference, held at the University of Chicago on May 16-19.

 

Wilcox presented at NAACL

Ethan Wilcox gave a talk titled "Stuctural Supervision improves learning of non-local grammatical dependencies" at the 2019 Annual Conference of the North American Chapter of the Associational for Computational Linguistics (NAACL), which was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 2-7.

 

Fenger presented at CGSW

Paula Fenger (Harvard/UConn) gave a poster presentation titled "A n(umber) of things: Linking morphemes in Dutch and German", joint work with Gísli Rúnar Hardharson (University of Iceland), at the Comparative Germanic Syntax Workshop 34, held in Kostanz, Germany on June 14-15. 

 

Harvard at CogSci 41

The following Harvard linguistics people presented at the 41st Annual Conferennce of the Cognitive Science Society, held in Montreal, Canada on July 24-27.

Wilcox presented at BlackboxNLP 

Ethan Wilcox gave a talk titled "Hierarchical Representation in Neural Language Models: Suppression and Recovery of Expectations" at BlackboxNLP,  a workshop of the 57th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics.  The conference was held in Florence, Italy form July 28-August 2.
