Linguistics Department Open House

open-house
The Department of Linguistics is inviting concentrators interested in linguistics to our Fall Open House on Thursday Oct 5, at 5:30 pm in Ticknor Lounge located on the first floor in Boylston Hall. Join us to learn more about our concentration requirements, meet members of our department, and hear stories from faculty, concentrators, and alumni, about why they decided to concentrate in linguistics, and how it can be used in different career paths. Refreshments will be provided. Graduate students are also welcomed to join the discussion with concentrators and share with them your insights about linguistics!

Laura McPherson talk & Reception dinner

Last Friday, Laura McPherson (Dartmouth College) visited our department and gave a talk on 'Spoken rhythms and drummed speech: Bidirectional iconicity at the crossroads of language and music'. Graduate students and faculties attended the talk and the reception lunch. Our very own Jonathan Bobaljik also offered to host a reception dinner at his house. Thanks so much to all the colloquium organisers, Katie and Jonathan for making this happen!
