Senior Thesis Workshop
Director of Undergraduate Studies Professor Katie Franich introduces the Senior Thesis Workshop, where graduating seniors presented their impressive thesis work to the department as well as invited friends and family.
Ice skating trip
Concentrators joined faculty and grad students (and some faculty kids) in Linguistics for an ice skating party in Kendall Square - a great excuse to get outside even in the Boston winter!

Athena Braun (Class of 2019) and Brian Yu (Class of 2019) received the Bok Center Teaching Awards for their work at CS50. Congratulations, Athena and Brian!
Linguistics Concentrator Admitted to a Graduate Program
Taylor Joyce (Class of 2019) will be matriculating 2019 fall to the PhD program in Linguistics at University of Texas, Austin, with the Donald D. Harrington fellowship! Congratulations, Taylor!

The Industry Panel was on Thursday February 28. This event invited speakers with a linguistics background who are now working in industry to share their experience and opinions on linguistics in a non-academic path.

Linguistics concentrators at LSA Annual Meeting 2018
The Department of Linguistics has two concentrators who will present at the prestigious Linguistic Society of America meeting in Utah this coming January 2018.
Anna Alsop (class of 2018) will be presenting a paper, entitled "Testing Contrastive Inferences from Suprasegmental Features Using Offline Measures."
Jennifer Hu (class of 2018) will be presenting a poster, entitled "A graph-theoretic approach to comparing typologies in Parallel OT and Harmonic Serialism."
